The St David’s Partnership, owners of St David’s in Cardiff, has announced that Sinclair Mercedes-Benz has returned for a second time to the centre to launch a pop-up showroom.
Open until the end of August 2016 the 2,687 sq ft pop-up store is located on lower Grand Arcade, adjacent to Superdry. Visitors can view two models on display, an A-Class hatchback and GLA SUV, as well as explore the entire Mercedes-Benz range on interactive touch-screens within the space designed by The Green Room. Test drives at the Mercedes-Benz retail outlet at Cardiff Gate Business Park can also be booked in-store.
An array of merchandise is available, including Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One baseball caps and accessories, worn by three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The store will also be running a weekly social media prize draw competition, inviting customers to take seflies with a replica Grand prix car to enter.
Andy Sinclair, Director of Sinclair Mercedes-Benz and smart, commented: “We generated a tremendous response with our first St David’s pop-up shop which attracted more than 25,000 visitors.
“It was fantastic for us to showcase our brands in a prime city centre location in the UK and in a completely different setting to our usual showroom environment. Now, with an enhanced facility that offers an outstanding retail experience to visitors whether they are interested in a new car or simply want to buy the latest Mercedes-Benz merchandise, we hope to attract even more people through our doors.”
Speaking on behalf of the St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Land Securities and intu, Colin Flinn, regional director at intu, added: “We are excited to once more welcome Mercedes-Benz to Cardiff, a key opportunity for brands in the West and outside of London. Their return after a hugely popular and successful run last year further marks St. David’s as a thriving retail destination. The store joins a retail line-up that has gone from strength to strength, and this pop-up will sit amongst other high calibre international brands including the largest H&M in the UK and Michael Kors.”
