These are high prestige events and exacting locations. FMBE asked the Elevate team to tell us about how they work for motorsport around the globe.

Motorsports events rely on precision, speed, and seamless execution – both on and off the track. Behind the high-octane action, a team of skilled professionals ensures that recruitment, logistics, and training run smoothly, supporting the success of each race. Elevate Global has established itself as a trusted partner in motorsports staffing, having been selected as the staffing partner for stichd, the chosen vending partner for retail trackside at Formula 1 in 2024 – and continuing to support Grand Prix events into 2025.

In this blog, we’ll dive into how Elevate Global handles recruitment, logistics, and training to deliver exceptional staffing solutions for Formula 1 events.

Recruitment: Sourcing Specialised Talent

Staffing for motorsports presents a unique challenge, requiring professionals with industry knowledge and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. As part of its recruitment strategy, Elevate Global held virtual casting calls to streamline recruitment for these positions, ensuring the right match between staff and events.

Elevate Global’s tailored approach focuses on the specific needs of each market and event. Operating across multiple markets globally, they’ve built a vast talent pool, with over 40,000 staff on their database, ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice. This reach is supported by a trusted network of international staffing partners, allowing Elevate Global to deliver coverage across key motorsport destinations such as China, the UAE, Brazil, and Singapore.

At the 2024 Grand Prix events, Elevate Global supported its client stichd by delivering a full team of retail staff – including store managers, retail crew, POS support, stock runners, zone managers, and assistant event managers. Beyond retail, Elevate also placed hospitality staff for Aramco activations and brand ambassadors for Paramount+ and Sky Cinema at the British Grand Prix. In 2024 alone, Elevate placed over 3,800 staff across 20 races, ensuring seamless fan engagement, sponsor activations, and operational excellence.

Staffing Director Lizzie Morrison shared her perspective on the recruitment process for major events like Formula 1, noting, “It was super exciting – it was another level of work and great to be a part of it. Recruitment and booking for these types of events are first steps – what’s really important is finding the right balance between engagement and retention of our staff. You don’t want to over-communicate or under-communicate, so you need to look at different ways to do it.”

In France, Staffing Manager Irène Plessis found the recruitment process just as rewarding: “What I really enjoyed about staffing the F1 event was speaking with candidates who were genuinely passionate about working at the Grand Prix. Their enthusiasm really came through, and it made the whole process more meaningful.”

Logistics: Managing Complex Operations

The logistics of staffing motorsports events are intricate, with races spanning multiple locations and requiring strategic staff placement. Elevate Global’s dedicated Formula 1 HQ team oversaw the coordination of thousands of staff members for stichd, ensuring the right people were in the right place at the right time. The team successfully navigated shifting race layouts, evolving venue logistics, and changing welfare provisions to keep operations running smoothly. Joe Sheppard, UK Managing Director, commented, “Managing large staffing numbers week after week across the globe was a huge responsibility. What became crystal clear was that when we treat people well and communicate effectively, they go above and beyond – and they absolutely did!”

With a global presence and a strong network of trusted partners, Elevate Global coordinated staffing logistics across multiple time zones and regions – ensuring the right teams were in place, on time, and ready to deliver across every race weekend.

Training: Equipping Teams for High-Performance Events

In an industry where timing is critical, well-trained staff are essential. Elevate Global supports this by providing customised training materials that complement the mandatory training required by clients. This includes covering safety protocols, brand messaging, and operational procedures to meet the high standards of motorsports events.

For Formula 1 trackside retail teams, the agency provided customised training materials, including an “F1 Retail Team Guide” infographic and highlight videos from past races. Lizzie explains, “The client provided mandatory training that we had to send out to all field staff as part of the accreditation process, covering things like health and safety/general awareness at this event. This year, now that we’ve been there and done that, we know more about the challenges that might come up, but also the local nuances of each market. We’ve taken a lot of learnings to improve things for everyone.”

Supporting the Future of Motorsports Staffing

As motorsports continues to evolve, the need for skilled event staff remains high. Elevate Global is well-positioned to support this growth with its proven expertise in recruitment, logistics, and training. Having already started providing staff for the 2025 Grand Prix season with stichd, Elevate Global is also expanding its services with additional clients, including Wasserman for off-site hotel host support at several global motorsport events, and Octagon for F1 Aramco activations.

Ahead of Imola and Monaco Elevate had already completed 1,578 shifts across 24 live days at early-season races including China, Saudi Arabia, and Miami – a strong indicator of their continued ability to scale, mobilise, and deliver on the global motorsports stage.

Whether it’s NASCAR in the US, MotoGP in the UK, or other high-profile motorsport events, Elevate Global is well-equipped to support the industry’s needs. Stay tuned for further updates.
