Andy Higginson joins McCurrach

McCurrach, the specialists in providing sales expertise to retail and financial services organisations, has appointed Andy Higginson as non-executive board director. He joins from Tesco where he spent 15 years on the board, most recently as CEO, Retailing Services.

Andy started in his role this month and will be applying his 32 years experience in the UK and international retail and FMCG sectors at companies ranging from the Burton Group to Guinness and Unilever to help McCurrach achieve its ambitious growth plans.

The financial services sector is a key focus for McCurrach where it aims to extend its position as a leading provider of outsourced sales teams to promote and support the products and services used by financial advisers. Andy’s experience and central role in setting up Tesco Bank will allow him to provide the knowledge and perspective needed to help deliver on this goal.

Andy Higginson, non-executive board director, McCurrach, said, ‘I recognise a strong opportunity for McCurrach in both the retail and financial services space and my skills will really complement those of the existing board team. I’m very proud of my work in developing Tesco Bank to the point at which it is a standalone entity and I’m delighted to be working on new challenges with McCurrach, particularly helping financial services companies to realise the valuable and beneficial role that outsourced sales teams can play in driving revenues and improving efficiency.’

Angus Maciver, CEO, McCurrach said: ‘Andy joins an experienced team at an exciting time for the McCurrach business. We are looking forward to working with him and learning from his depth of experience and knowledge of both the retail and financial services sectors. Andy is credited with being one of the few who were instrumental in masterminding Tesco’s rise to be the third largest retailer in the world, this expertise will be vital to us as we grow and evolve.’
