Buckinghamshire award wins for Global Infusion Group

Chesham-based Global Infusion Group (GIG), one of the UK’s leading catering, logistics and brand support companies, has been named Buckinghamshire’s ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Exporter of the Year’ .

The two prestigious county business awards come just weeks after GIG won the Queen’s Business Award for Enterprise in International Trade, the UK’s highest accolade for business success, in recognition of its outstanding international trade results which have seen the company, formed 30 years ago, expand into a global operation.

GIG Founder and CEO Tony Laurenson, who is also a business ambassador for Buckinghamshire, said: “We were overjoyed to win a coveted Queen’s Enterprise Award but for us as a local business it is also fantastic to be recognised at county level for the important contribution we make to providing jobs and supporting Buckinghamshire’s economy.”

The Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2014 were held on Thursday, May 15, at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury. Tony Laurenson was joined on stage by his son Matt, who works business development and operations, and Charli Turner, who spearhead’s GIG’s legal and marketing team, to receive the Lloyds Bank Exporter of the Year award.

The delighted trio were back on stage again at the end of the evening to pick up the coveted prize of Buckinghamshire Business First Company of the Year award, presented by Philippa Batting, managing director of BBF, who organised the event. The audience was told that the top award of the night was ‘awarded to the business that in the opinion of the judges, best represents Buckinghamshire in terms of its success, its commitment and contribution both to the local community and economy. The award recognises and rewards an outstanding organisation whose growth, ambition, quality of management and ethos have enabled it to outperform its peers.’

Philippa Batting said GIG was a ‘highly deserving and successful’ recipient who ‘had accepted some exceptional challenges, and won through’. She added: “They were able to demonstrate to the judges that their workforce were totally committed, that their business and marketing plans were being executed with precision and that their success and profits are growing year-on-year as are the number of staff that they employ.”
