Chinese passengers given extra welcome to Amsterdam

Promotional staffing specialists Spirit Hosting & Promotions, a member of the Airport Promotion Agencies association, will be providing Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam with Mandarin speaking hosts and hostesses throughout the month of May.

In anticipation of the many Chinese passengers who visit Amsterdam in May, Schiphol Airport is keen to provide them with a customised service to enhance their travel experience. Spirit Hosting will assist Schiphol by providing the specially trained staff who will be on hand to ensure Chinese passengers feel welcome and help them to find their way at the airport.

During this month Schiphol can expect an increase in its Chinese passengers, largely business travellers, as part of the annual tradition to travel during May. They can also expect many of the wealthy Chinese leisure travellers who are looking to take advantage of Holland’s famous flower season and visit the “Keukenhof”, the world’s largest bulb flower park and one of the biggest tourist attraction in Holland.

Another active tourist season for Chinese tourists visiting Amsterdam is January, during the Chinese New Year, for which this year Spirit Hosting also provided Schiphol with Mandarin speakers to welcome passengers to the airport.

Aridj Jaber, account manager travel retail at Spirit Hosting, commented: “After the success of our Chinese-speaking staff in January, we’re pleased to be carrying out this service again for Schiphol airport. As is fitting with the ethos of Schiphol, we pride ourselves in going the extra mile to making the passengers’ visit that bit more special.”

Throughout May staff will be positioned in the Duty Free area of the airport where they will be available to guide Chinese passengers through the airport and offer general assistance and information.
