Citihenge stands tall for summer Skoda solstice

Skoda is launching its new Citigo car with the help of a PR Stunt created by Taylor Herring. The work, dubbed Citihenge is a sculpture by artist Tommy Gun and is currently installed at Potter’s Fields.. It is a reworking of Stonehenge using a number of worn out Skodas and has a recycling message at its core. It is intended as a beacon in economical motoring.

Pietro Panarisi, Skoda spokesperson says: “The Citigo embodies the future of driving and is the smartest option for forward-thinking city drivers. While traditional cars struggle to perform well under the strain of city driving, the Citigo is designed to excel in the urban environment. Citihenge symbolises the beginning of a new era of motoring and we hope drivers across the country will recognise this important turning point.”

The sculpture was erected in time for today’s summer solstice.

After its London debut the henge, weighing 36 tonnes, will be reset at Goodwood Festival of Speed., at the end of the month.

The PR stunt has already made headlines with publications including Metro, Evening Standard in print and Mail online.
