Ford and Imagination outline plans for UEFA Champion’s League

Global creative business Imagination has created an epic experience – Discover Ford – for Ford of Europe for the UEFA Champions Festival at The International Quarter at Stratford City. It is the first time the site will be used since the London Olympics and the experience celebrates the UEFA Champions League Final coming to the capital.

Ford of Europe is the longest-serving official partner of the UEFA Champions League, European football’s most prestigious club tournament. With this year’s Final being held at Wembley Stadium on 25th May to mark the Football Association’s 150th anniversary and the UEFA Champions Festival being held at the Olympic Park, it promises to be an another momentous sporting occasion in London.

The highlight of the Discover Ford experience is a special guest appearance on Friday 24th May by extreme rally driver Ken Block, in his adapted version of the Ford Fiesta ST which will bring an exhilarating element to the already fun event. The Ford experience, at approx. 12,000sqm, is nearly 50 times bigger than past years.

The site will be filled with a range of fun and exciting activations, created by Imagination, to promote the new Ford Kuga and Ford Fiesta ST, including a ST skatepark and Ford Kuga test track. On the track, visitors will discover remarkable technologies of Kuga while navigating a Champions League themed obstacle course. A team of qualified instructors will run the drive experiences over the four day festival.

Every two hours, visitors will get the chance to watch a thrilling Fiesta ST performance show, with professional drivers performing fast-paced moves. The ST Skatepark will be brought to life with high adrenaline BMX, skateboard and football freestyle performances. Other activations include a penalty kicking game, vehicle displays, photo opportunities and the ST simulator, which always proves popular on Ford’s stands at all European Auto Shows.

Natalie Eldridge, account director at Imagination said: “We wanted to push the boundaries at this year’s UEFA Champions Festival and provide a high energy, transformative experience for Ford that visitors won’t forget. With exciting new activations and special guest appearances, we hope that visitors will discover something new about Ford, experience some of their latest technologies and that we create a special and memorable experience, one to be shared with friends and family.”

Discover Ford at the UEFA Champions Festival opens at 12pm on 23rd May and will run until 6pm 26th May 2013 and aims to engage with the local community including some of the 700,000 daily visitors at Westfield Stratford.
