Grass Roots appointed to Government event Frameworks

Grass Roots Meetings & Events has been confirmed on the Government’s Framework Agreement for both event management and production services. Places have been allocated by the Crown Commercial Service (formerly the Government Procurement Service) on two year contracts, with an optional two year extension. Appointed agencies stand to share in annual business valued between £40m and £50m.

The agreement, which is due to go live on June 9th, supports the Government’s policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated procurement function at the heart of government. It will be available to organisations across the UK public sector including central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations. Grass Roots is one of a small number of agencies that have been successfully appointed across both Lots; Event Logistics and Technical Production.]

Grass Roots Meetings & Events divisional director, Des Mclaughlin, commented: “The Public Sector is responsible for some of the most innovative and creative live events within the UK and so it’s hugely exciting to be a part of the Framework. Our ability to offer a complete suite of event related services through a single business means we are extremely well positioned to offer efficient and effective solutions that will help government departments engage with their audiences and achieve the cost savings that underpin the premise of the Framework.”

Crown Commercial Service chief executive, Sally Collier commented: “I am delighted to confirm the award of the Events agreement. This is a fundamental part of the vision set out in this year’s Government Communications Plan to work together across the public sector and spend taxpayers’ money responsibly. It’s also great news for a diverse and vibrant supply base with 89% SMEs.”
