Imagination wins creative contract for extensive ANZAC tour

Imagination Australia has successfully won the tender to be the Creative Director for The ANZAC Centenary Travelling Exhibition.

The project will be managed by the Australian War Memorial on behalf of the Federal Government, and stands as one of the flagship events of the ANZAC Centenary program.

Executive manager for the ANZAC Centenary Touring Exhibition, Major General Brian Dawson AM CSC (Ret’d), said the Creative Director will be responsible for the development and the delivery of the detailed concept for the Travelling Exhibition.

“Imagination will play an integral role in the development of the concept for the ANZAC Centenary Travelling Exhibition; a Centenary project which will be a major feature of Australia’s commemoration of the First World War”.

Managing director of Imagination, Antony Gowthorp, said: “Imagination is incredibly proud to be awarded this highly significant project commemorating such an important moment in Australia’s history. We look forward to producing an ANZAC experience that will touch the hearts and minds of people of all ages, all around the country.”

The Travelling Exhibition is planned to commence in late 2015 and will visit communities, particularly rural and regional towns, throughout Australia over the ANZAC Centenary period until late 2018.

Led by Imagination’s director Heath Campanaro, the exhibition will blend traditional exhibition creativity, with theatre and innovative interactive technology to deliver a powerful experience for audience members of all ages, in every corner of the country.

Director of Imagination, Heath Campanaro said: “A project like this is a once in a lifetime, and we feel incredibly honoured to have been chosen to help bring such an important story to life, and to the collective consciousness of the nation. Rarely does one have the opportunity to assert their creativity to a national project of this significance, and the team is extremely excited about creating something that will live on in the memories of Australians for many years to come”.

This new business win comes hot on the heels of Imagination’s tender win to present Sydney New Year’s eve for another five years for City of Sydney as well as their critically-acclaimed creative direction for the Royal Australian International Navy Fleet Review Spectacular staged on Sydney Harbour in October 2013.

Imagination Australia was started in 2005 and has grown to an agency of 70 staff in 2014.

Imagination has seventeen offices around the world, and the full complement of in-house talent, from brand consultants, architects, advertising specialists and interior designers, to retail specialists, event producers, direct marketers and digital experts.
