Malaysia Kitchen gets tour cooking at Tesco

whynot! has continued to promote the Malaysia Kitchen campaign across the UK this February by taking their branded street food truck to Tesco consumers in the South East.

UK based Malaysian chef Caroline Mili Artiss and local restaurant owner and chef Fauzi both used Vits Air Died Noodles and King Kampong Koh Chilli Sauces, which retail in Tesco stores. These are two of the main ingredients of the popular Malaysian dish Mee Goreng, which was cooked on the street food truck and proved a hit with Tesco customers who sampled the products and were were impressed by how easy it was to create authentic Malaysian dishes.

In addition to food sampling, discount vouchers were distributed for redemption with Vits and King Kampong Koh products which can be found in the world food section in Tesco Extra stores.

The Tesco activity is part of the wider marketing and promotional campaign whynot! will be managing on behalf of Matrade, the Malaysian Trade Commission throughout 2012.

Stuart Knight, deputy managing director, whynot! said: ‘The mobility of the Malaysia Kitchen truck has been a great success. We have been able to appear at multiple sites and interact directly with our target audience, giving Malaysia Kitchen high visibility with the UK’s biggest grocer whilst also introducing the public to the great tastes Malaysian cuisine has to offer.’
