NomadiX signs 20 iWalker contract with Singapore’s Mobistudios

SINGAPORE 2Singapore-based Mobistudios, a powerhouse creative design and technology player throughout Asia, has signed a contract to acquire 20 iWalkers, the digital roaming media device developed by Scottish technology company, NomadiX.

iWalker uses facial feature detection, even when masks might be worn, to collect a range of data that is impossible to amass from traditional billboards. It records how many people have looked at a message, for how long, and can also identify their gender and age group,

The ultra-light iWalker is worn by a human who can roam through crowds and interact with individuals, creating a “bridge” between a customer and a traditional wall-mounted display. It can even be programmed to detect the emotional response of audience members to an instruction based on their facial features.

Mobistudios provides cutting edge digital and interactive solutions for its audience of sophisticated and tech-savvy customers throughout the Asia Pacific region and plans to use iWalkers alongside its current digital design offerings and fixed signage solutions services.

They will be used both to sell high-value digital space to brands and as front-line public safety tools, not least because, powered by Quividi technology, the industry standard for audience and attention analytics in digital out of home (DOOH) marketing, the iWalker can identify mask wearers as part of the anti-Covid-19 reporting regime.

Mohamad Sulkhi Bin Juman, a director, said: “Mobistudios is delighted to become an exclusive NomadiX Media partner in Singapore and, also, to cover south east Asia. iWalker, with Halo digital signage and audience measurement, will transform the way our clients engage with their audiences where traditional media cannot reach. We look forward to seeing iWalker in action.”

Mark Evans, who set up NomadiX in 2012 said: “iWalker is a reliable tool designed specifically to reach people in “out of home” locations and can play an important role in keeping people attending any large-scale event both safe and secure.

“Our iWalker has been developed as the high-technology outdoor advertising equivalent of pay-per-click display ads on the internet, but as the impact of the global pandemic has shown, the new normal will demand lots of queuing and reassurance that trusted safety measures are in place.

“And because with iWalker, the message can move with the audience, it can deliver important safety, security and general information to engage with visitors throughout any and every event.”

“These are exciting times for NomadiX and iWalker. In an increasingly fragmented media market, one shape no longer fits every message, nor indeed all circumstances.

“We are very pleased that NomadiX has come to this sales agreement with such a dynamic and well-respected company as Mobistudios. We see our relationship as an integral part of our growing international NomadiX network.

“We have already exported iWalker to countries in Africa and the Middle East, as well as to North and South America, and look forward to working alongside the Mobistudios team as iWalker penetrates other east Asian markets, including Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Brunei and, of course Australasia.”

NomadiX initiated its export sales agreement with Mobistudios in mid-February at the annual exhibition of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Amsterdam, one of the last international trade shows to take place before the global lockdown.
