2020 is a big year for this London landmark, as the Eye celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since opening two decades ago, the wheel has welcomed over 76 million visitors and witnessed over 5,000 marriage proposals. lastminute.com is only one year older, and boasts similarly gobsmacking statistics having filled the equivalent of 250,000 aeroplanes, jetting customers off to more than 100 different countries. That’s comparable with sending the entire UK population abroad!
