With golf’s reintroduction to the Olympics this year in Rio, the International Golf Federation pulled out all the stops to make Golf’s return as big a success as possible. As golf is a minority sport in Brazil, Provision Events were tasked to activate the thousands of Brazilians expected to attend the Olympic Golf Tournament.
Provision set up an Olympic activation offering a variety of golf skills which included, mini golf, long putt challenge, golf simulators and the opportunity to have free golf lessons with local Brazilian Golf professionals. Over 7000 spectators of all ages and abilities visited the fan zone over nine days.
Nick Clemens , founding partner of Provision Events comments; “It was such an exciting and unbelievable opportunity for Provision Events to be part of The Olympic games.
The fan zone that we created at the spectator village at the golf was always busy with all ages and abilities trying the mini golf putting; the golf simulator challenges and receiving free golf lessons with The Brazilian Golf Federation.
It was no surprise that during the 9 days of activation over 7000 spectators came through the experience. The whole PVE team had a blast and we managed to watch other sports and soak up the incredible atmosphere.”
