Slingsby Gin reaches new heights with World Duty Free listing

Harrogate-based spirits brand, Slingsby, has entered into an agreement with major multinational travel retailer World Duty Free to list products from itsspirts portfolio across a number of its major airport outlets.

From April 2018, Slingsby’s London Dry and Yorkshire Rhubarb gins will be available to purchase across four World Duty Free stores (Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Humberside and Doncaster airports.) These new listings mark an important retail development for the Yorkshire gin brand that, in December 2017, celebrated hitting their 3 millionth pound worth of sales.

Slingsby will be supporting the new World Duty Free listings with sampling activity at each location throughout summer 2018 to engage new customers with their core artisan offerings in these regions.

Slingsby’s local home county airport, Leeds Bradford, will also see the London Dry and Rhubarb gins available in the two premium lounge bars, plus accompanying advertising will be taken out in the airport, including a dedicated Slingsby Gin window display in the World Duty Free store.

Co-founder and managing director of Spirit of Harrogate, Marcus Black, comments: “2018 is looking to be an exciting year at Slingsby with these new listings helping us reach even more customers travelling in and out of the UK with our award-winning portfolio. The World Duty Free agreement gives us the amazing opportunity to help put Slingsby on the map internationally and we’re equally thrilled to be further embedded into our home county with this significant new presence at Leeds Bradford airport.”

To celebrate these listings and further make their mark in travel retail, Slingsby Gin will be showcasing their offering for the first time at WTCE in Hamburg this April. WTCE is a global event for the travel catering, on-board retail and passenger comfort industries. Slingsby will be sampling their gins at the exhibition and looking to engage with new potential business partners in travel catering.
