The Lucky Pig gets ready for World Gin Day and Tanqueray Tones

World Gin Day returns for its sixth year this June. Tanqueray will be raising a glass and bringing the history of gin alive through an immersive, musical pop-up event at decadent London drinking den, The Lucky Pig.

With music at the heart, Tanqueray Tones will culminate with unique, vintage-style jazz band ‘Top Shelf’ performing an original song documenting the spirit’s intriguing journey throughout the ages, in their distinct ‘filthy swing’ style. Gin aficionados will experience the music and taste the key moments in gin’s history, through four indulgent Tanqueray cocktails specially created by; Tristan Stephenson, (Co-Owner, Worship Street Whistling Shop, London), Barrie Wilson, (Tanqueray Global Ambassador), Tim Homewood, (Tanqueray GB Ambassador) and Dren Lala, (Head Bartender, The Lucky Pig).

At the one-off event, gin lovers will also be given the unique opportunity to experience gin tasting sessions, and immerse themselves in bygone eras with vintage hairstylists, old-school barbers and a shoe shine specialist.

From its early manufacture in Bloomsbury, Tanqueray has witnessed the rise of the gin palaces of the 1800s, influenced the world of jazz through to hip hop, and legend has it that the brand was enjoyed post-Prohibition in the White House and by the Rat Pack. Get in the spirit and raise a glass to the upcoming World Gin Day and gin’s unique past at Tanqueray Tones, the go-to joint for Londoners in the mood for classic gin cocktails and old fashioned glamour.
