Isuzu stokes passions with Super League fans

Super League has announced that it has agreed a partnership with Isuzu to become the Official Pick-Up Truck of the UK’s elite Rugby League competition, the First Utility Super League.

As part of the new relationship, Isuzu will receive branding rights at major games throughout the season in addition to the opportunity to promote their range of Isuzu pick-up trucks at Super League fixtures.

RFL Chief Operating Officer Ralph Rimmer said: “We are delighted to welcome Isuzu as the latest world class brand to join the impressive portfolio of a partners of the First Utility Super League.

“Isuzu pick-up trucks are renowned around the globe for their toughness, strength, durability and appeal, qualities which are shared with the fantastic athletes who play in Super League.

“We are looking forward to working with Isuzu throughout 2014 in what I am sure will be a very successful partnership for all of us.”

Isuzu’s partnership with the Rugby League’s elite competition complements the brand’s sponsorship of the Super League coverage on Sky Sports.

Haydn Davies, Group Marketing Director for Isuzu UK said: “Our partnership with Super League as the official pick-up partner is the perfect complement to our high profile sponsorship of Sky Sports’ coverage of the Super League.

“It will allow us to put the D-Max directly in front of Rugby League fans as well as opening up a range of additional promotional opportunities at matches, starting with the official partnership launch at Magic Weekend.

“The link between the pros in the Super League and the product attributes of the D-Max are well known so we think this is the perfect partnership for us.”

Isuzu celebrated the new partnership with a strong presence at Magic Weekend 2014 when Super League fans had the opportunity to test their strength against a range of Isuzu pick-up trucks in the Fan Zone at the Etihad Stadium.

The partnership was negotiated on behalf of Isuzu by Mediacom Sport.
