Howard's Way Walkers at the starting line at Emirates Stadium [1524713]Over 60 event professionals, representing all parts of the event industry, took to London’s parks and streets on Friday 3rd June to walk, talk, network and raise money to fight pancreatic cancer.

Setting off from Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal F.C. and taking in 10 miles passed some of London’s iconic landmarks and parks, including Regents Canal, Regents Park, Hyde Park and Marble Arch, to arrive at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.

Howard’s Way Walk was created by event professional Howard Kerr just before losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. The London walks have taken on a new poignancy after the tragic passing of Jim Harding, Head of Premium Sales and Hospitality at Arsenal Football Club, from the same disease in 2015. The walkers from event companies including Circle Agency, RPM, Gallowglass, Exposure Communications, Arsenal, Off To Work, George P. Johnson, Blondefish and PRG.

With the sponsorship money still pouring in, the walkers’ endeavours are set to raise more than £10k to support Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Gallowglass Group MD, Nick Grecian, commented, “This was the second Howards Way Walk in the city and it was great to ‘netwalk’ with event industry professionals. What we have raised will make a big difference to the charities and the funds we’ve raised are directly contributing to fighting this horrible disease.”

Carlo Zoccali, Meetings and Events Manager, Arsenal Meetings & Events, said: “It was a great opportunity for us to netwalk with other event professionals from across the event industry, while raising money for a great cause. We lost a valued colleague to pancreatic cancer and it was an honour to be able to do our part to raise money for the charities working to fight the disease.”
