Thatchers Cider and Raptor touch down on campuses with Hot Air Balloon DJ tour

Thatchers Cider will be landing at university campuses with Juicy Sounds: Fresh Press. The nine-stop music tour arrives at Student Unions, clubs and bars across the UK from April to June with parties hosted around a giant hot air balloon.

Showing up on campus and in popular student venues at sundown, Juicy Sounds: Fresh Press will bring balearic feel-good vibes and ‘people powered sunshine’ to students. The first 150 guests through the door will receive a free pint of Thatchers Juicy Apple.

Up-and-coming student DJs, from those who haven’t had the chance to play outside their bedrooms to the ones that have appeared at local club nights, have the chance to win a spot to play in their city under the iconic Thatchers hot air balloon.

DJ and producer Woody Cook will be listening back to the sets and deciding which DJs really delivered, before giving them the opportunity to play at leading UK festivals throughout the summer.

After the sundowner sets the party continues as Thatchers invite revellers to a sponsored club night where the first arrivals will be welcomed with a free serve of Juicy Apple.

Emma Weber, Head of Activation at Thatchers Cider, said: “We’re excited to bring our delicious Juicy Apple cider and great tunes to student populations up & down the country. Our Thatchers hot air balloons are iconic and won’t be missed as they land in some of the best student venues.”

Raptor is delivering the experience, including strategy, event management, staffing and social.

David Burgman, Co-Founder and CEO, Raptor, said: “Thatchers has a long history of launching its Hot Air Balloon across the country, but we are excited to be refreshing the experience for a student audience. Students care most about connecting, and music is the perfect way to bring people together. With student DJs, nine locations and Juice Apple Cider, we think we’ve got the perfect formula.”

The tour began in Southampton on Thursday 30th April outside the University of Southampton Students’ Union (SUSU), and will be heading to Birmingham, Nottingham, London, Cardiff, Exeter, Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester.
