Agency Visit: Annette Hedderman receives her Hall of Fame Award

Annette Hedderman’s citation was first delivered at the Best Connected Awards, 26th June
Annette Hedderman and Leona Mullaly had to abandon their proposed flight to London for the BEst Connected Awards in the midst of our searing summer. With Annette due to be one of our headliner Hall of Fame recipients that news came as a blow and required on the day script adjustments.
My immediate thought though was how do I turn misfortune into fortune?
Dublin, after all, has regular daily flights from my home airport of Bristol.
So earlier this month, 10th September, I flew out to Dublin to present our award to Annette in front of a large quota of her team and colleagues.
It was a very heartwarming occasion as video collated from around the business and live speakers on the day tried to encapsulate Annette’s 25 year contribution to field marketing. The man who has worked with Annette for most of this time is Nial Benson (pictured), Account Director, PRL Sales. His son, and fellow director Adam was also to hand. Both tried to explain a uniqueness in Annette that sees her involved with every aspect of PRL, quietly leading and guiding the teams whilst never seeking the limelight.
So this was a day when a back office leader was given much deserved but little sought praise and acknowledgement.
It was a huge pleasure to present this award to Annette. Subsequent conversations with rival agencies have affirmed what a good choice she is.
