Real Radio deploys PixAngels to help pass on Communities’ message

The Scottish Government has backed football’s  Scottish Communities League Cup to promote Respect, Responsibility and Tolerance in Scotland’s towns and cities to make a lasting difference and put the game back at the heart of communities as a uniting influence.

Real Radio has teamed up with the Scottish Communities League Cup to gather 10,000 signatures in support of these values. In order to collect this amount of signatures and spread awareness in communities, Real Radio has been traveling around Scotland with the League Cup and has utilised the services of the PixAngels, a patented photography/ social media service, provided by agency Kommando.

The PixAngels have proved to be a great hit with the public as well as Real Radio’s campaign organisers, providing an easy and innovative way to magnify the campaign message. Real Radio have been one of the first clients to trial new features of the PixAngels online service which includes increasing ‘likes’ and ‘followers’ for the brand as well as spreading the message through ‘tagging’ of people in photos and uploading of pictures to social media.

The ongoing tour features a Real Radio gazebo which has been seen around Scotland. The final stop is this weekend at Dunfermline’s Kingsgate Shopping Centre. Inside the gazebo, PixAngels capture images of the public with the genuine League Cup. The photographs are then printed in an instant to lab quality standard and given out as a gift. Fans get to take home their memorable moment with the League Cup and can also use unique codes to view Real Radio’s bespoke online gallery (part of the PixAngels Service) and view or download their photos. The gallery also gives visitors an opportunity to share the images through several popular social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. The gallery also reiterates the Government’s message, and visitors can ‘Like’ (Facebook) the “Pass it On” campaign.

Lynsey Oattes, communications manager, Real Radio commented: “Real Radio went to Kommando to help promote and assist in the execution of our ‘Pass It On’ project, which aimed to spread the message of Respect, Responsibility and Tolerance in Football by collecting 10,000 signatures to sign up in support of the message.  We wanted to leave a lasting impression as well as generate interest at our events; the PixAngels were perfect for this.  The framed photos ensured people engaging with us on the day got a tangible message to take home and the online gallery helped further spread the message through social media where people could share their photos with friends.  The presence of the PixAngels on the day, made sure we had a steady line of people waiting to get photos taken and generally increased traffic to our event area.”

200 footballs are currently being ‘passed on’ throughout Scotland to collect signatures. A host of stars have already signed up in support of the campaign, including Matt Cardle, JLS, Manic Street Preachers, Eddi Reader and Jai McDowall. The celebrity footballs will be auctioned to raise money for grassroots football teams across Scotland.
