Produce UK launches Skip Gallery

This March sees the installation of a skip in Hoxton Square. The skip forms the heart of a new series of conceptual art events in London.

With themes of death and love, the series of installations will bring art to unexpected places.

Skip Gallery has been created by Catherine Borowski, Managing Director and Founder of artistic eventmaking and placemaking agency Produce UK. She is working with creative director and artist Lee Baker on the inaugural Skip Gallery show, and their idea is to take the mundane, the everyday and everyplace and reimagine it as the creative, the arresting and the inspirational.

The first Skip Gallery installation, Na, I Don’t Want None of That Again, will launch on 23 March 2017. It will be the first of a series of shows and collaborations throughout 2017 that will include contributions from artists and collectives such as the London Art Exchange and visual artist and Turner Prize nominee David Shrigley.

Skip Gallery is a self-directed project from Produce UK, uniting the skills and themes that inform the agency’s work as producers, creators and placemakers. The themes of the project will embrace the urban environment and the reuse of materials. Skip Gallery is a new idea, a new type of arts space, offering an alternative to the conventional routes to art, for both artists and viewers.
