Bluewater launches multichannel Christmas campaign

Bluewater has launched its new Christmas advertising campaign. Entitled ‘Christmas is here. Make it magical’, the campaign was devised by creative agency, 23red. The campaign encourages people to leave their adult selves behind to see Christmas once more through the eyes of a child.

A wide-eyed six-year-old girl is the star of the show, along with a CGI incarnation of one of Bluewater’s iconic illuminated reindeer, which signify Christmas for thousands of guests over the festive period.

The campaign breaks mid-November and runs across TV, press, digital, out of home, point-of-sale, and various in-mall media touch points.

Commenting on the launch of the new campaign, David Wilkinson, head of marketing at Bluewater, said: “For so many consumers across London and the South East, Bluewater is their favourite destination at Christmas, not just for shopping, but to spend time with friends and family. Our new campaign reflects this, inspiring guests to experience the magic of Bluewater with the help of our iconic reindeer.

“With the combination of our unique offer, environment and experience, supported by this very innovative targeted campaign that takes advantage of a number of new digital communication tools, we are confident this is going to be a very strong Christmas for Bluewater.”

Bluewater’s Christmas experience includes the Winter Wonderland with ice rink snow slide and Santa’s ice palace grotto. On November 13, Bluewater’s Christmas lights were switched-on with a firework spectacular and light display, an annual event that marks the launch of the festive season at Bluewater.
