eXPD8 acquires field marketing business from Tradewins Ireland

The eXPD8 Group of companies has announced the purchase of the field marketing arm of Tradewins Ireland, the pre-eminent provider of such services in the Republic of Ireland. This acquisition follows the recent successful purchase and integration of Worthing based sampling and demonstration company Merchandising Sales Force Ltd in October 2013.
Tradewins Ireland provide a range of field sales and retail support services with particular expertise in grocery across the Republic for numerous top brands in all major retail estates including Dunnes and Tesco. Tradewins Ireland employs 550 people.
The company will trade under the name “eXPD8@Tradewins” and will be part of a wider portfolio of Marketing Services offered in a one-stop shop under the Tradewins umbrella including design, print procurement, POS storage and distribution. The existing eXPD8 operation in Ireland will be integrated with the newly acquired business.
The former owner, Art McGann, has agreed to stay on as chairman to maintain continuity and help co-ordinate activity across the various services offered by Tradewins. Art is joined on the board by Paul O’Donnell who will assume the role of managing director of eXPD8@Tradewins. Paul is a senior director with over 20 years’ experience of successfully managing operations on behalf of major retail, FMCG and logistics companies such as Musgrave, Diageo, Müller, Danone and Mondelez.
The purchase does not extend to Tradewins UK which will continue as an independent business but which will be re-branded in due course.
The takeover enables the enlarged Group to offer clients seamless high quality retail support services on both sides of the Irish Sea.
