Friends and Public Worldwide celebrate 20 years with fans on the sofa

The 22nd September 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of US sitcom Friends. Public Worldwide has been hired to deliver a UK and Ireland campaign to celebrate it. For the tour, which got underway at Lattitide festival, the campaign team has brought a slice of Chandler, Joey, Ross, Rachel, Monica and Phoebe to multiple UK and Ireland festivals by setting up the ultimate friendship accessory, the official Friends sofa!
Ian Irving, strategy director at Public said “we kick started the tour with a hugely successful weekend at Latitude Festival. TV’s most famous sofa was set up in a fully branded converted shipping container designed to replicate the opening sequence of the show. It was situated outside the Film and Music tent from Thursday onwards. The response was truly astounding with an incredible and sometimes surprising reaction from all ages including young children. Thousands of photos were taken and shared each day so we are expecting a huge amount of social amplification through the official #FRIENDS20th.”
The tour will give fans the opportunity to take unforgettable photos with their friends and family on the most recognised sofa in the world. Friends first hit TV screens in 1994.
