Visit Sweden brought a taste of unique Swedish artisan food to London this week. Hel’s Angels o be provided staff for Visit Sweden’s latest venture; A 3-day pop up venue showcasing food from the regions of West Sweden, Skåne and Luleå in Swedish Lapland.
Visit Sweden transformed East London’s Truman Brewery into a traditional ‘Red Cottage’ showcasing Sweden’s wonderful food and artisan produce and provided a taste of Sweden right in the middle of London.
The three-day pop-up featured a free lunch club at 1 Corbet Place between 12pm – 2pm each day and guests were invited to book over email. The ‘Red Cottage’, a dramatic reconstruction of the traditional red & white cottages found all over Sweden, was transformed every day to showcase each of the three regions and their menus.
This project required careful selection of staff and Hel’s Angels have worked closely with Visit Sweden to ensure that the best brand experience was provided.
Maitre d’ Linda Klockare fitted the bill perfectly – an amazing Handball player and downhill skier, Linda has a very Swedish appeal. A trusted member of the Hel’s Angels team, Linda’s front of house experience and bilingualism ensured that visitors encountered a truly immersive experience from the moment they walk through the door.
Visitors to the pop up on Monday 22nd enjoyed the culinary delights of Luleå, in Swedish Lapland served against the theatrical backdrop of the Northern Lights projected onto the walls of the cottage. Highlights on the menu included Kalix Löjrom, a very rare caviar referred to by foodies as ‘The gold of the North’, as well as fillet of reindeer with cloudberries. Tuesday 23rd saw the Red Cottage travel further south to the dramatic coastal region of West Sweden, home to some of the best seafood in the world. Visitors experienced such delights as crayfish ‘toast skagen’, goats cheese crème with baked cocktail tomatoes and scrambled eggs with mackerel and pickled onions. The final day of the pop up, Wednesday 24th October, was hosted by the southern region of Skåne who are known for their relaxed and organic lifestyle. Guests wiere treated to their version of the great St Martins Day Goose Feast, which traditionally takes place in mid-November. Dishes included mouthwatering roasted goose served with apple compote and thyme, organic eggs cooked at 63.5 degrees with local cheese & forest mushrooms and black soup made with local apples & sausage.
