Kinetic and BBC kick off campaign for FA CUP

The BBC is launching giant projections of the FA Cup over the weekend  to celebrate the start of this year’s tournament, with the activity created and planned by MEC, Kinetic and Ambient Media.

Projections will appear on key locations in Warrington town centre ahead of the match between Warrington and Exeter. The campaign will see images projected on to the Town Hall, Golden Square Shopping Centre and Local Warrington Wolves Rugby Club and aims to create excitement in the local community. The activity will also be broadcast on the BBC ahead of this evenings match.

The campaign aims to take the FA Cup back to its grass roots and is part of a larger four-day drive on the BBC, with matches, draws, highlights and live goals as well as coverage from other shows, including The Great British Bake Off’s Mary Berry baking a football-themed cake.

Alex Heywood, communications planning director, MEC, said: “This mobile projection places the BBC at the heart of the community. It showcases the excitement of the early rounds and demonstrates the depth of the BBC’s coverage of the UK’s most famous cup competition.”
