New Balance lets brand fans test out new tennis shoes at Wimbledon

Athletic footwear apparel and accessories brand, New Balance, has embarked on a 2 week brand experience campaign to support the launch of the 996v2 Tennis Shoe.

The stand, en route to the Championships, offers Wimbledon visitors the chance to try on the 996v2 and take part in a series of challenges to test their serve speed, serve accuracy and reaction times

The best scores are recorded on the NBTennis Challenge Leaderboard. At the end of the tournament the top 3 men and women will each receive a pair of the new 996v2 shoes.

As part of the experience attendees are provided with a footwear consultation where they are invited to try on the new 996v2 shoes and use them in the tennis challenges.

This is the second year running that New Balance have run this activity at Wimbledon. The 2014 demo consisted of a shoe trial and a serve speed test. This year the challenges have been developed further, introducing an accuracy element to the serve speed test and a also a reaction test station.

At the end of the experience the visitor also has a photo opportunity displaying the speed that they clocked or in front of an NBTennis branded “I unleashed my court speed” photo board.

Experiential agency AmbientWW was commissioned for the successful 2014 campaign, and is again running this year’s activation. The campaign was booked  and managed by New Balance’s Agencies: Talon Outdoor and PHD
