Red Bull has tasked its experience agency, We Are Collider, with designing, delivering and managing League of its Own: the brand’s biggest European esports tournament to-date.
Taking place on 9 December 2023 at The Velodrome in Berlin, the event – which sold-out in under two hours – was a unique celebration of esports that saw the legendary T1 team compete, fresh from their record breaking fourth Worlds (aka The World Championship of League of Legends) victory in Korea on 19 November 2023.
At League of Its Own, T1 played against Europe’s best teams to create rare show matches where fans were able to get up-close-and-personal with the iconic team and their star player Faker, arguably the GOAT of esports. League of its Own played host to 35 of the world’s best esports players.
The show featured four stages, 400+ lights, 100 speakers, 500 squared metres of projection mapping across the Velodrome Race Track, 200 squared metres of LEDs and 7,000 illuminated wristbands.
Broadcasted and co-streamed live across YouTube and Twitch in multiple languages, the show-stopping event impressed both its 7,000-strong audience and the broader gaming community.
We Are Collider has partnered with Red Bull for 5 years. The 2023 League of its Own esports show has been the partnership’s biggest collaboration to date.
We Are Collider’s CEO and Founder, Anton Jerges, said: “Designed to blow the minds of the gaming community, the show also provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience for attendees by bringing together everything We Are Collider loves about major events: incredible design combined with complex and innovative technical deliverables that offer great results while generating vast quantities of authentic hype.”
