Sledge are working with New York based charity, We Are Family Foundation for a second year to host the TEDxTeen event at London’s Indigo O2.
TEDxTeen is an independently organized TEDx event which is licensed from TED. TEDxTeen combined TEDTalks video, performance and live speakers led by inspiring young adults to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. Past hosts have included Chelsea Clinton and Monique Coleman.
Sledge worked alongside WAFF to produce the one-day event for an audience of 800 at the event. The full day was also live streamed to over 150 countries across the globe.
The event brings forward new and inventive ideas from some truly fascinating individuals; H&M’s first Muslim model, Mariah Idrissi discussing the Face of Fashion and extreme environmentalist Rob Greenfield, who went a year without showering are a few of the speakers who will be sharing what they are most passionate about. Hosted by actress Ella Purnell, the event also included dance and poetry as well as performances from Mahalia and Zak Abel. Both live and online audiences were treated to a performance from the UK award winning band, Rudimental, who closed the show.
The event reached over 15 million people on Twitter with #TEDxTeen trending throughout the morning of the event.
