Verbalisation strengthens leadership team following agency growth

Verbalisation, the behavioural communications agency, has hired Rachel Emms as strategic development director and Nick Tate as chief growth officer following new business wins for The Sun, The Times, Dow Jones and Nuon Energy.
The appointments follow a strong year for the agency, having doubled its revenue and grown its existing client base.
Nick Tate joins from Naked Communications, where he was the head of new business and marketing, Europe and is currently Co-Chair of the IPA New Business & Marketing Group. His remit will cover the strategic development of Verbalisation’s growing product portfolio, propositional development and market growth.
Rachel Emms, formerly a managing partner at McCann London, will lead consultancy teams across the current client portfolio. Emms commented: “Social media shows us that today brands are built and burned by conversation. As an ex-psychologist, Verbalisation’s progressive science-based approach to decoding audiences through language really resonates with me and I can’t wait to get started.”
Alex Van Gestel, CEO, Verbalisation said: “Our growth this year has been spurred by businesses who are looking for 21st century solutions to seemingly uncrackable age-old problems. As a company we believe that must start with having absolute empathy with and scientific understanding of an audience. Nick and Rachel’s experience will further enhance our offering as we build brilliant insight into the most effective language strategies and behavioural comms.”
Emms and Tate start with immediate effect and will report to CEO, Alex Van Gestel, the former Bacardi global communications director.
