Deliveroo recreates Lunch Atop A Skyscraper in London

Deliveroo is inviting Londoners to help recreate one of the most iconic images of the 20thCentury; Lunch Atop a Skyscraper, taken at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, during the construction of the Rockefeller Center in New York City, 1932.

The brand, as part of its Summer campaign, is going to transform the photograph into the ultimate dining experience. Brits can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, on a specially built rig, on the roof of a secret central London skyscraper, this Tuesday and Wednesday 21st & 22nd August.

Guests will dine 450ft in the air, suspended over London with an unparalleled panoramic view of iconic London landmarks including the London Eye, BT Tower and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Seats at the experience are strictly limited, picked at random through an online ballot which kicks off from the Deliveroo Twitter on Tuesday 14th August. To enter Brits simply need to select a time slot from and apply for a slot to dine before 5pm on Friday 17th August. Spaces on the steel girder are capped just over 200 diners, across breakfast, lunch and dinner across the two days.

The eight-meter steel girder will be suspended 32 flights up at over one of London’s tallest buildings.  Sittings last exactly thirty minutes, giving people plenty of time to enjoy their meal.

Diners at the Eat UP  restaurant will be able to order from local Deliveroo favourites like Tortilla, Bleecker, Coco di Mama & Lola’s Cupcakes, amongst others.

Emily Kraftman at Deliveroo said “Deliveroo has been committed to delivering the most amazing food experiences all summer, whatever the weather, be it to the beach, a park, at home or 450ft in the air.  When thinking about infamous lunches, the photograph from Rockefeller Center is hard to beat, but we thought we might as well give it a go!”
