George P. Johnson build City of the Future for MWC

George P. Johnson, the leading Events and Experience Marketing Agency, designed and built Innovation City for GSMA, organisers of MWC, to showcase how communication will be transforming the design and build of city environments of the future.

Innovation City is over 2,000 square metres in size and over a third of all MWC attendees will visit the space.

A life-size passenger plane built at the heart of Innovation City, was the backdrop to demonstrate how mobile connected products are changing the way we travel. Including how you can track your beloved pet dog as it jets around the world joining your global adventures.

Other zones showcased the latest in connected car technology, a virtual shopping mall with mobile payment and even connected cattle.AT&T, an Innovation City partner, used custom branded VR, crafted by GPJ, to tell their smart cities and security story.

Matt Watts, the GPJ Creative Lead comments “We paralleled the innovation process of the digital world in our design focusing on using elements of open architecture and lean user experience. This led us to create an environment that moved-away from single exhibitor zones to a connected and collaborative flow”.

GPJ worked with exhibit partners including AT&T, KT, Sierra Wireless, Jasper and GMA to ensure visitors experienced a seamless exploration of the city.

CNN, BBC and other European news channels all broadcasted from the stand.
