Match brings a whole latte love to Shoreditch

Coffee_Match_29 littleDating service Match is launching a coffee shop with a difference to help singles find love this January. Those looking to score a date in 2017 are encouraged to swing by Espresso Yourself – a  pop-up coffee shop serving ‘Chappuccinos’, ‘Femmericanos’ and ‘Selffees’, 3D-printed with the profile pictures of eligible Match members.

The service has been designed to encourage time-poor, coffee-loving Londoners to find themselves a date while getting their daily caffeine fix. A menu of eight different Match members (four male, four female) will be available to choose from at the two-day pop-up at Shoreditch’s Boxpark. After picking a drink, visitors will be handed a free coffee with the profile picture of their chosen single 3D-printed into the coffee’s foam.

While drinking their Chappuccino or Femmericano, they can get to know more about their potential match (their age, height, occupation, interests etc.)  by reading the outside of their specially-designed coffee cup. If they like what they see  they can simply follow a link printed on the cup to track down their match.

Other singles who want to get involved can print their own face onto a ‘Selffee’ with the help of one of the on-site staff, before giving it away to someone they like the look of.

To create the  experience, Match has teamed up with Coffee Ripples, who developed the 3D-printing technology which allows life-like images to be printed onto the top of frothy coffees, such as lattes and cappuccinos.

Espresso Yourself will be open to the public on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th January in Boxpark, Shoreditch.

The shop will initially open as a pilot scheme in London, with the potential to roll-out to different cities across the UK.

Match spokesperson Jenny Mitchell commented: “More and more of our members are choosing to go on ‘coffee dates’, and scrolling through potential matches is something people often do while they’re queuing for their morning caffeine fix. We’re encouraging singles to have the confidence to be bold and put themselves out there in a way they hadn’t before. At the same time, we wanted to make finding a date as simple as ordering a coffee, so we’ve teamed up with eight of our members to help make it happen.”
