PixAngels help John Lewis activate Kew The Music sponsorship

PixAngels was recently employed by John Lewis after the retailer signed a contract to be the headline sponsor for the ‘Kew the Music’ summer concerts (Kew Gardens, London). This was the first time John Lewis had sponsored a music event and also the first time they have utilised PixAngels photo marketing.

The Angels captured a high volume of images at the event due to their new package PixLite which removes the printing function and instead drives participants online to view and share images in just one click.

The series of summer picnic concerts were previously named Summer Swing but re-launched last year as ‘Kew the Music’ to welcome a wider spectrum of musical genres. The concert was attended by many, including parties of friends and family.

PixAngels not only provided bubbly and enthusiastic Angels who could easily roam around the event with their slick yet advanced photo technology; the service allowed John Lewis to connect further with festival goers after the event itself, giving them a chance to relive some unforgettable moments through the art of photography via an online gallery. Everyone who had their image snapped could use a unique code to access their photos online later that day. Many visitors at the festival browsed through their images on the branded John Lewis gallery (which was linked back to the John Lewis website) and statistics showed that many wanted to keep their memories by either printing, saving or share across social media networks such as Facebook or Twitter.

The 2012 ‘Kew the Music’ line-up included Status Quo, M People, Will Young and the Gipsy Kings to name a few. John Lewis could be seen throughout the festival by their branded areas which supplied food, drink and places to sit and lounge. John Lewis marketing director Craig Inglis srecently told ‘Marketing Magazine’: “The brand has a perfect fit with our target market and the summer concerts partnership builds on our very successful range of Kew Gardens home and garden products.”
