TransferWise demonstrators take to the streets with Nothing to Hide

Three days after receiving a $25m cash injection from Sir Richard Branson and Peter Thiel to fund an ongoing awareness campaign about hidden bank fees, London-based TransferWise rallied a naked army to march through the City of London.
At 07.30 this morning over 100 demonstrators stripped off to reveal ‘Nothing To Hide’ painted over their bodies as they marched through the heart of the City.
The protest – led by TransferWise co-founders Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann – was staged against the financiers responsible for misleading consumers.
At nothing2hide.co.uk, TransferWise has published a ‘Board of Shame’, featuring advertising from banks and brokers concealing the fees they charge when customers send money abroad.
Taavet Hinrikus, co-founder of TransferWise, said: “Banking needs to be shaken up – today we kick off our campaign to stamp out hidden fees and make the world of international money transfers a fairer place. Raising awareness is an essential step in arming consumers with all the information they need to make informed choices about how to transfer their money abroad without getting ripped-off.”
