Kru Live announces journey tracking system for strategic climate support

Kru Live has extended its sustainability efforts by developing an industry first journey tracking system that measures a staff members journey and mode of transport to and from their clients’ live events. The data produced from these reports can then be used to offset carbon emissions.

The newly created emissions tracker will also incentivise and award points to event teams who choose to walk, cycle, car-pool or use public transport in order to get to work.

The hyper local casting approach has the added benefit of both supporting local economies through community employment and reduced travel budgets for clients.

Clients who wish to offset their carbon emissions can then choose to contribute to Kru’s climate consideration fund which is connected to the RMDLT PORTEL-PARÁ REDD PROJECT (Helping To Reduce Deforestation In The Amazonian Rainforest, Brazil) or to a project of their choice.

Sarah-Jane Benham, MD at Kru Live said “we hope that this will set a precedent within our industry across all live events and staffing agencies that deliver them”.

Benham added, “By supporting our clients own climate strategies, we are reducing emissions and travel costs through our points-based reward system and focus on local team selection. We have also made it super easy to calculate the carbon footprint of an activity. So far it has been really well received and our agency clients are loving being able to include this in their overall client offer”.
