Sky Rainforest Rescue Dome bring WWF insight to Edinburgh

Visitors heading to the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh will now get a chance to discover more about the Amazon Rainforest, thanks to a specially constructed dome that has been conceptualised and designed by RPM on behalf of Sky and WWF.

RPM has created a rainforest experience that promotes Sky and WWF’s joint Sky Rainforest Rescue partnership by providing an insight into the amazing rainforest eco-system, which is home to one in ten of all wild species on earth, including the iconic jaguar. It also showcases a wide variety of every day products that people may not realise come from the rainforest: chocolate, coffee and cashew nuts.

People entering the Dome will also get the chance to handle and feel real Amazonian rubber tapped by the rubber tappers supported by the partnership, write their own rainforest pledge and learn how they can help save 1 billion trees in the Amazon.

Sarah Hutchison, regional manager for the Amazon at WWF said: “Our forests are vitally important, not only to people – but to the planet as well. By encouraging people to come along to the Sky Rainforest Rescue Dome, we hope we will inspire them to think about protecting far off tropical places like the Amazon rainforest.”

Sarah Anderson, Sky Rainforest Rescue manager from Sky said: “We want to provide people with innovative and inspiring ways to experience the rainforest for themselves in order to learn how and why they should protect it. Through working with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, we have found the perfect partner and setting to complement our work on rainforest deforestation.”

Dom Robertson, RPM’s managing director, said: “The Sky Rainforest Rescue partnership is the perfect example of using brand behaviour to change human behaviour. Contemporary marketing is less about what you say, and more about what you do – walking the talk. By putting its money where its mouth is, Sky is providing a great public service in terms of educating us about the rainforest, whilst simultaneously creating an engaging marketing campaign. We’re proud to be a part of it.”

The Sky Rainforest Rescue Dome is open daily until 8th September and is free to all ages.  Schools can book tours at rainforest@bskyb.com . For more information visit sky.com/rainforestrescue
