The FMBE Awards 2021: Most Successful Virtual/ Hybrid Event

The final three for this one emerged from a star quality shortlist. It led to an outstanding top three and yet a clear winner (which was entered for judges’ eyes only). These were events that challenge the return to live and in person without using at least some of the virtual programme in a hybrid future.
These events benefitted strongly by not attempting to replicate the in-person event format online but instead to rework content to suit the online audience better and to overlay that with production values that made them polished and easy to follow.
BRONZE The Circle Agency – Coca Cola European Partnerships
This event really brought in a huge audience – far greater than the in-person event would have done – and also added a popular online party played by The Kaiser Chiefs.
Judges comment: “The quality and thought put into this event is incredible. The standout for me is the inclusivity and the ability for people that couldn’t previously attend the event being able to benefit. The effort put in and the metric this delivered are commendable.”
SILVER 2Heads – Belden
One of the challenges that virtual events have in award entering is to put the judges inside the experience, long after the live event has subsided – the more so with a company like Belden that is on the radar only to customers of industrial connectivity and networking solutions.
2 Heads ensured their achievements could be weighed up with a wealth of video evidence showing off the event as live, the report of the event and structural insight into the event.

This confidential campaign was praised for its innovation and fantastic results. It was favourited by many of the judges of this category and won with breathing space over the top-rated shortlist.
