Link Communication’s Joel Kaufman looks ahead at some of many varied options for connection your brand to this year’s sporting selection.
Obstacle Courses and Endurance
Extreme endurance races like Tough Mudder, Total Warrior or other events like them attract dedicated fitness fanatics and thrill seekers. These nationwide events bring in over 20,000 runners per event making them perfect to push your fitness focused products.
Fun Runs, 10Ks and Marathons
Whether it’s 5Ks, 10Ks, Half Marathons or full Marathons, running events allow you to pick intensity to suit your audience. At the gentler end it’s middle aged and older keen to get in better shape; and at the more extreme it’s Strava focused pace setters.
Wimbledon and Fanzones
Wimbledon draws over 40,000 professional and affluent adult spectators through London train stations and to fan zones across the country every day for two weeks in July. You can reach fans on the way into the stadium and at big screens across the UK.
Boardmasters in Newquay
Boardmasters is a youth music and surf culture festival like no other, combining live acts with extreme sports. Each August, this five day celebration of all things rad, draws in over 75,000 16 to 25 year olds from across the UK, down to be part of the action on the Cornish coast.
Olympic Fanzones
This summer, nearby Paris plays host to arguably the biggest sports event in the world: The 2024 Olympic Games. Although it’s across the water, British pride will see fan zones, pubs and streets packed with fans; especially for the big ticket event days like 100m. Use this timing to promote your sporty samples to win a Gold Medal for your own brand!
Motorsports
You can pick from big ticket motorsport events like Formula 1, Formula E and Superbikes; down to the more hands on classic car rallies, drag racing and show’n’shine gatherings. Over summer you can reach hundreds of thousands of petrol heads at legendary race circuits like Silverstone or Brands Hatch.
International Cricket
What could be more British than a nice game of cricket! From May to September, the largest scale cricket fixtures with England playing international rivals attract crowds of 35,000 affluent AB professionals. You can use roaming teams outside the stadiums across the country to reach your own Barmy Army!
