Interview: Expanding capabilities – Jonny Bottomly, design and production director, Link Communication

Link Communication in Leeds has enjoyed a strong start to 2024, and as FMBE’s recent visit to their expanded premises at HQ proved, the feeling at the agency is very much all systems go ahead of this summer. Much of the expaned offer from Link is coming through the new production facilities overseen by direct Jonny Bottomly, and so FMBE put the questuions to him.

How much have you enjoyed expanding the production and manufacturing facilities at Link? Why?

Expanding the production and manufacturing facilities at Link has been an immensely gratifying experience. It’s been a journey fuelled by passion and innovation. We’ve relished every moment of it because it’s not just about the physical growth of our facilities; it’s about enhancing our capabilities to create truly memorable brand experiences for our clients.

Watching a project that goes from an initial phone call with a client idea to the finished experiential event is what I enjoy most about working at Link. Seeing a client who is ecstatic with a brand experience that has been produced totally in house, is an amazing feeling.

Which clients have benefitted and why?

As we’ve expanded, a diverse range of clients have benefited from our improved capabilities. From emerging to established brands, our enhanced production and manufacturing facilities have enabled us to cater to a broader spectrum of needs, whether that be something as large as an in-house vehicle conversion or something smaller like pop-up display counter.

Smaller clients have particularly benefited from our flexible cost structures and tailored services, especially considering this may be there first time stepping into the world of experiential. By offering scalable solutions and customisable packages, we empower them to leverage the power of brand experience marketing without breaking the bank.

What are the cost/pricing structure advantages for a small or new client to brand experience marketing?

For smaller or new clients, the cost/pricing structure advantages in brand experience marketing are significant. Unlike traditional advertising channels that often require hefty upfront investments, brand experience marketing offers more flexibility.

We can work closely with clients to design experiences that align with their budgets while maximising impact. Additionally, our transparent pricing structures ensure that clients know exactly what they’re getting, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.

What challenges do you stand ready to resolve for Link clients this summer?

This summer, we stand ready to resolve a myriad of challenges for our clients. Whether it’s adapting to evolving consumer trends, navigating logistical complexities, or leveraging emerging technologies, we’re committed to delivering seamless brand experiences.

With our expanded capabilities and expertise, we’re well-equipped to overcome any obstacle and help our clients achieve their marketing objectives with confidence.

In summary, if you’ve got an idea, no matter how crazy, the Link team are always up for it!
