Slingsby Gin launch virtual reality experience

The makers of Slingsby Gin have launched a new virtual reality experience that allows gin fans a chance to immerse themselves in the true ‘Spirit of Harrogate’. The two minute experience allows users to explore the creation of the product, from sourcing the botanicals right through to distillation.

The new marketing tool will be used by Slingsby to court further on-trade outlets up and down the country, as well as for eager gin fans to experience.

The Harrogate-based artisan gin brand successfully released the VR experience at foodie festival Taste of London in Regent’s Park, from 14th-18th June. Visitors could put the VR headset on to experience the story of Slingsby and were taken on an exclusive virtual reality tour of Harrogate.

The virtual reality tour begins at the world-famous Tewitt well site before taking in the kitchen garden at the five-star Rudding Park Hotel, where Slingsby sources most of its botanicals. From there, it’s over to the distillery before heading back to the brands’ store, completing the experience with mixologist Alex Hanson demonstrating a cocktail or two.

The brand has also produced a batch of Google cardboard headsets, enabling even more gin lovers to engage with the Slingsby experience. The headsets will be distributed at selected events over summer and there is also a plan for a giveaway on Slingsby’s social channels.
