FMBE Awards 2020: Guide to the Finalists, Cat O, Small Scale/ Low Budget

FMBE 2020 – guide to the finalists

Category O: Small Scale/Low Budget

This year the awards are being presented in online broadcast interviews with the finalists. The result of this category will be presented and revealed online in discussion with the finalists on Friday 29th January from 16.30  to 16.45, and broadcast on Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/fmbemag

What we love about the category

The category gives us a chance to scrutinise the way in which we sweat the small stuff, showing either how much we can do on a limited budget or how local or trial work seen in detail can open coffers and ambitions by focusing down on ROI. The entries often show different techniques and creative solutions at a micro level. The two finalists this year come from opposite extremes of the FMBE spectrum…

What our judges love about this year’s finalists

Acosta Europe Flexforce – Nestle Purina

How does a Petcare brand keep up to speed with shoppers as they migrate to discounter stores such as B&M and Home Bargains? And does the migration justify a field team to reach those shoppers?

Spoiler Alert: Flexforce, and YES

Plaster and Upfest – Bristol City Centre BID

That 2020 Summer of returning to cities with low COVID seems a while ago, but thank goodness there was a window between lockdowns where some safe socialising could continue. Nevertheless, socially distanced socialising lacks a little love. This Bristol team literally put the hearts back into the community with painted hearts across the green spaces of the city to show how best to use the outdoor spaces safely, a simple but well implemented plan that led to national TV coverage.
