FMBE Awards 2023: Brand Ambassador of the Year (Field Sales & B2B Events)

GOLD Amber Connolly – Elevate Field Marketing – London Essence

The brand ambassador category is one that our client judges love to get involved with and often request to come back to. In field sales in particular, where BAs are often working full time on strategic contracts there is an understanding that the best field representatives have a fulfilling career ahead of them at agency or client.

There’s a virtuous circle in play. Each year we see a greater raft of talent put forwards and each year level of appreciation evolves.

The category reflects some wonderful individuals supported by agency training and facilitated by client brands who love the difference that is being delivered in terms of performance and brand success.

Winning gold, Amber Connolly exemplified that progression. Her work in sales for London Essence allows her to take full use of a clear strategy delivered by Elevate that allows the field team to build sales events at the businesses the use the product on bars as an elite drinks mixer.

Amber’s entry detailed how opportunities are created and then how she makes the connection for long lasting success with business brand converts.

One judge noted: “So many great testimonials from Amber’s client and customer contacts. There are multiple examples of going above and beyond for the brand. She supports her colleague and customers with training and coaching. Amber also utilises her degree in Hydrology to support the technical side of the job.” The same judge also noted the “Extensive materials provided by Amber and/or the agency to support her nomination.”

SILVER Adam Golightly – REL Field Marketing – Weetabix

It was a stellar year for REL: Field Marketing and for Weetabix and that team unity helped inspire and be inspired by Adam Golightly, this year’s silver winner.

The entry showed how and what Adam emerged as a leading light in this team. As one judge commented: “He made a successful transition from retail to field sales, where he has been able to use his 20+ year’s experience within Tesco to provide better outcomes and solutions for the client.”

Another judge simply summarised: “Great feedback internally and externally as well as impressive sales figures. Adam clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows in store.”

BRONZE Lewis Harrison, Powerforce, Haribo & Molson Coors

Taking bronze, Lewis Harrison also shone for his team ethic as a part of the 2022 Team of the Year.

One judge comments: “Lewis looks to have an approach the supports the total business. From on boarding new starters to senior stakeholder intervention, all whilst delivering KPI’s consistently and supporting in detail on key customers. His use of incentives and recognition are a great way to drive a business forward.”

Further praise declared: “He shares his knowledge and experience to train new field reps. He played a pivotal role in the trial and setup of the grocery syndicated operation between Haribo and Molson Coors. Lewis’s passion and enthusiasm shines through in his nomination.”
