F1 partner with Lifesaver Power to deliver unlimited mobile phone charge to fans

LeClerc with Power BankLifesaver and F1 have partnered to create F1Power; an unlimited mobile power bank service that will be available to all fans attending the British Grand Prix at the iconic Silverstone circuit this weekend, and across 18 races globally this  season.

The two year partnership has been created to keep fans online, charged and happy – it will empower spectators to continue to broadcast and share their favourite moments from the home of British Motorsport this weekend, live and direct from their mobiles.

As the most technologically advanced sport in the world, that saw 4 million spectators to races in 2018, F1 is at the forefront of both the world of technology and hospitality. Aiming to empower people whilst protecting the planet, this partnership will deliver sustainably sourced mobile power directly to fans’ pockets.

Phone power is seen an essential to everyday life and the F1 power alliance will offer this crucial level of service to guests; heightening their experience and ensuring F1’s extraordinary hospitality.

Lifesaver’s closed-loop business model brings the hire and return service to F1 fans at Silverstone. A used power bank can be exchanged for a fully charged unit at any of the fixed kiosks or mobile vendors across the events. Only a deposit will be charged, enabling fans to receive free power this weekend and at all future races, with the deposit refunded on return of a power bank.  Part of the opportunity for brands includes fully customised and branded sleeves for events and partnerships.

Parveen Thornhill, head of London Region at DIT, said: “It’s fantastic to see innovative British start-up Lifesaver securing an international contract with a brand as renowned as Formula 1. The partnership will benefit thousands of racing fans around the world. It demonstrates the potential for success when forward-thinking companies work with the Department for International Trade to build exporting into their business model. If Lifesaver can do it, so can other businesses in London and across the UK.”

Albert Goma, manager digital licensing and partnerships, F1: “Mobile power is becoming an essential part of daily life. The launch of F1 Power allows us to offer free sustainably powered charging in keeping with our ethos of limiting the environmental impact of our events.”

Archie Wilkinson, CEO of Lifesaver Power: “We are excited to be working with Formula 1 to empower fans across race days. This contract comes at a great time for us as we are about to launch a £200k raise on Crowdcube. The atmosphere of a Grand Prix is always so electric, and broadcasting is such a key factor in creating that – we want to turn fans into broadcasters, heightening the coverage of F1 whilst also contributing towards increasing sustainability within the championship.”
