The Octonauts arrive at Sea Life Centres

Silvergate Media has struck up a partnership with the Sea Life centre network to provide a new mission for top children’s television series the Octonauts

The Octonauts are a dynamic eight-member team of quirky and courageous adventure heroes who dive into action whenever there is trouble under the sea.

They are a smash hit with young viewers of CBeebies, for whom Silvergate produce the series with animation provided by Academy-award nominated Brown Bag Films.

The Octonauts mission is to explore the world’s oceans, rescue the creatures who live there and protect their habitats so there’s a real synergy with our Sea Life centres which are actively involved in marine welfare and conservation,” said Sea Life trade marketing manager Debbie Fisher.

Silvergate Media, with offices in London and New York, has agreed a deal with Sea Life which will see Octonauts characters visiting several Sea Life centres this summer, integration of the Octonauts with the education trails within some centres and other fun games and activities taking place.

The partnership gets underway this week in Brighton and Birmingham, both of which saw some of the Octonaut crew arrive in dramatic style by sea and canal, with hordes of young fans on hand to greet their heroes.

Word of the tour has already got out and advance bookings have rocketed,” said Debbie. “We’re confident of a significant increase in families visiting when the Octonauts are in town.”
