GES has announced that Poken by GES has been selected as an official engagement technology provider for the 84th UFI Global Congress by UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
Hosted by the Johannesburg Expo Centre, the 84th Global Congress, UFI’s flagship event, will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre in the heart of the business district, from 1 – 4 November 2017. UFI’s Global Congress has earned the reputation of being ‘the exhibition industry’s global meeting’, and with participants expected to attend from over 50 countries, UFI is living up to that reputation yet again.
This year’s event will leverage Near Field Communications technology with Poken’s smart badges and touchpoints serving as the engine of the programme content. Poken’s intelligent software and gamification technology will drive the delegate engagement experience. Visitor behaviour analytics will be displayed throughout the event demonstrating how organisers can access unprecedented insight in real time.
Kai Hattendorf, managing director/CEO of UFI, said, “The UFI Global Congress revolves around the exchange of information and the sharing of ideas. The smart technologies developed by Poken will help deliver an integrated experience, provide tailored content to visitors and greater returns for exhibitors and sponsors.”
Jason Popp, executive vice president, international at GES added, “The exhibitions industry is hungry for data and insight that can demonstrate visitor and exhibitor ROI. GES provides the latest engagement technologies to ensure a seamless visitor experience and boost exhibitor lead capture. We are excited to showcase these capabilities at this prestigious event.”
Poken’s engagement technology has already been successfully deployed across thousands of events, by a number of organiser clients including UBM, Messe Frankfurt and Reed Exhibitions. GES executives Stéphane Doutriaux, Jason Popp and Mark Eddy will be available for media briefings during the 84th UFI Global Congress.
