Lumas Gallery curates new UK flagship store

Shaftesbury has today announced that Lumas Gallery will bring its sought-after exhibition and store concept to 21-23 Earlham Street in Seven Dials in September 2019, which will serve as the company’s UK flagship site.

Founded in Berlin in 2004, Lumas focuses on the ‘liberation of art’ with a considered portfolio of museum-quality, limited-edition fine art and photography prints, catering for enthusiasts and shoppers alike at an accessible price.

The 2,000 sq ft two-floor corner unit, overlooking the destination’s iconic Sundial Pillar, will see the contemporary artworks exhibited amongst inviting spaces designed to emulate home living areas, in line with signature interiors of over 30 LUMAS sites worldwide.

Commenting on the signing, Sam Bain-Mollison, head of retail at Shaftesbury, said: “We’re thrilled to open another UK flagship in Seven Dials and welcome Lumas Gallery to a key location. The evolving collection exhibited on-site will add to the sense of discovery throughout Seven Dials, while providing the innovation and diversity which visitors are increasingly looking for in the bricks and mortar experience.”

Mark Beyer, COO at Lumas Gallery, added: “London has such a rich art scene, so it’s great to establish firm new foundations in the heart of the West End. We view Lumas Galleries as a welcoming hub for people to meet and get in touch with art and look forward to being part of the wider Seven Dials community which shares these values.”

Lumas Gallery joins international brands Nappa Dori, Away and Farah which have all recently selected Seven Dials for UK flagship sites.

JLL and Nash Bond represented Shaftesbury. Blanchflower Lloyd Baxter acted for Lumas Gallery.
