Griggs takes the helm at ILEA EMEA

Toni Griggs, sales and marketing manager at George P. Johnson takes over as ILEA Affiliate Chair EMEA. Griggs takes over from Dr James Morgan of Event Tech Lab and University of Westminster at the end of June 2016. Griggs was previously Operations Manager ILEA EMEA before migrating to George P. Johnson in 2014 and was formerly on the international ILEA Marcoms committee as EMEA Brand Champion.
Her new role incorporates various initiates started by Morgan including the successful Accelerate conference and representation of ILEA EMEA at international trade shows such as IMEX Frankfurt and Ace of Mice Istanbul and incorporating ILEA Hong Kong into the EMEA region. This is a new move to re-order the chapters that complement each other’s activities and membership profiles – with Hong Kong event professionals having a close association to both the UK and Middle East chapters.
Morgan has congratulated Griggs stating “Toni has made a significant contribution to the UK chapter and most importantly, taken a key interest in ILEA at an international level, supporting the stateside leadership meetings held twice a year and implementing the new brand image across boarders in the EMEA region. The EMEA Affiliate has many diverse cultures and Toni’s international marketing experience and contacts in the EMEA region makes her the ideal choice for the role.”
Griggs has a full agenda to implement over her two year tenure. This includes seeing the smooth convergence of the Hong Kong chapter into the EMEA structure, regional activity expansion across Central Europe and increased visibility and membership growth across all regions which also includes the UK, Middle East, Turkey and Nigeria.
Griggs is thrilled with her appointment stating that “The EMEA region is seen by ILEA as the new growth hub for the organisation and James has successfully delivered a culturally sensitive business model that has led to penetration into new markets. I intend to continue his work on the growth agenda and create a greater interconnectivity between the EMEA chapters and the International Board of Governors for the future success of the ILEA EMEA region and the organisation as a whole.”

Toni assumed the EMEA Affiliate Chair position on Friday 1st July.
