Appear Here opens unique concept store in the heart of Seven Dials

This December, Appear Here are launching Give & Receive, a curated emporium of independent brands.

Appear Here have teamed up with store curator Marina Guergova (of The Basics Store and Marina London) to open Give & Receive, for two weeks from Saturday 8 December, in London’s  Seven Dials, located in the heart of the West End. The concept store will be presented in an individual space at 40 Earlham Street at the site of a former stables, bringing together 40 independent designers in one hub, alongside festive food, drinks and creative workshops to create a Christmas ‘market’ with a difference.

The one-stop-shop offering aims to offer completely original gifts bought directly from the people who made them. The space will showcase sustainable fashion designs from The Acey, chemical-free candles from EYM, Francesca Gentilli’s vintage Berber rugs, prints by Hôtel Magique, handmade ceramics by KANA, organic hair and beauty products from Glasshouse Salon, Marina London’s silk basics. The Give & Receive concept store will offer shoppers an opportunity to browse exclusive handmade products which are usually only available online, while also offering shoppers a chance to meet the talented founders themselves, as they’ll be on site to help you make the perfect purchase.

In the Pine Tree-lined courtyard, Good & Proper Tea will be serving warming tea and crumpets from their 1974 Citroën-H van; there’ll be popcorn from Drum & Kernel to snack on and drinks from The Wine Butler. Once inside, visitors will be greeted by an interactive display platform built by Fred Rigby, alongside curated gift guides from style icons including Rosa Park and Brittany Bathgate. Downstairs has a vibrant workshop space where visitors can meet the makers and take part in workshops that they run themselves. The whole space is a celebration of creativity and brings together Appear Here’s favourite creatives for the first time under one roof.

Also on offer are gift-making workshops, where guests can learn to make terrariums with We are Leafage, charm necklaces and bracelets with Alighieri, candles with Milkwood Margate, beauty products with Hackney Herbal, mystical crystals with Wolf Sister or jewellery with Workbench. Attendees can join a life-drawing class with Alexa Coe and bid on her art as she creates it live in the store.

Since launching in 2013, Appear Here’s community has grown to number over 180,000 brands across the world, using the platform to find space for their ideas.
