Battery screen technology ready for field and event marketers

A new battery power for screen technology looks set to make an impact on a wide range of field and brand experience campaigns.

The concept behind the technology has been conceived and brought to market by RCS Power Supplies, a business that was established to provide bespoke mains/battery power for mobile or wireless retail checkouts.

First trialled in the Autumn 2012, battery powered screen were used to promote a Broadband/HDTV provider at Top Gear Live with the screens used alternately for promotional messaging and Xbox gaming. The screens were used successfully by promotional sales staff to help convert show visitors into customers.

Subsequently RCS has launched a rental service for the screens, with sizes from 19″ to 50″ and allows rental rates for daily, weekly or monthly use. The whole product has been designed for easy transport and assembly. It can travel to brand experience or sales training events in the back of a small hatchback.

Product developer Rupert Sexton explained the ease-of-use to fieldmarketing.com, “On arrival at an event the client simply places the main chassis on the ground before slotting the mid-section and HD display into place. The batteries are then connected into the power supply via fail-safe connectors (as is the screen’s power lead). The display is then ready to be wheeled into position and used. Media content is uploaded via a USB stick in seconds.”

Battery life is typically 26 hours and can be recharged overnight.
